The Power of an Abundance Mindset

For the past 19 years, my leadership has been rooted in an abundance mindset. I strive to be a beacon of inspiration for myself and women all over the world. I believe there is enough wealth, opportunity, and success for everyone, and it’s my mission to help women realize this truth for themselves. I encourage collaboration over competition because I know real power is built when we lift each other up. My message is simple: we rise higher, together.

The Root of It

However often, we don’t realize what’s quietly holding us back. Feelings like envy or jealousy can creep in when we compare our journey to someone else’s success. If you’ve ever asked, “Why not me?” the real question might be, “What’s stopping me?” These emotions aren’t failures. They’re clues. They reveal where healing and mindset work are needed. Want to know where you stand? Take my quick Abundance Mindset Quiz below to see if limiting beliefs are blocking your growth.

Digging Deeper

Sometimes the story I believed about myself wasn’t even mine to begin with. Maybe a teacher once said I wasn’t what they were looking for, but maybe they were having a bad day or couldn’t see beyond their own limited perspective. Maybe a parent doubted my dreams, not because I couldn’t do it, but because no one ever showed them how. Maybe I absorbed unspoken messages that made me shrink, messages passed down from people who were taught to survive, not to shine. I’ve done the work to break free from those false narratives, and now I help other women do the same. We are not defined by the limits others placed on us.

Power is Your Birthright

You might be carrying weight that was never yours to begin with. Mindsets passed down from your mother, grandmother, or the women who came before you. Scarcity, fear, and self-sacrifice may have helped them survive, but those patterns don’t have to shape your future. You have the power to break the cycle. This is your moment to let go of what no longer serves you, reclaim your voice, and choose abundance in every area of your life. You are not limited by what someone else couldn’t do, didn’t do, or told you wasn’t possible. Your story is yours to rewrite, and it can be filled with joy, freedom, and more than enough.

Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence: The Game-Changer for Women in Business

Over the past few years, I’ve hosted several conversations on emotional intelligence (Emotional Quotient) with my team, fellow women in business, and at events. Each time, the conversations have been powerful. Emotional intelligence isn’t just a “soft skill”, it’s a leadership superpower that influences how we communicate, make decisions, and navigate challenges in our professional and personal lives.

Women in business often balance leading with strength and leading with heart. But here’s the reality: while EQ gives us an edge in leadership, relationship building, and resilience, it also comes with challenges. High emotional awareness can lead to burnout, blurred boundaries, and the expectation to carry emotional labor that isn’t always recognized or rewarded.

The Pros & Cons of Emotional Intelligence in Female Professionals

The Strengths:

  • Stronger Leadership : EQ enhances decision-making, communication, and team morale.
  • Better Relationships : Understanding emotions builds trust with clients, partners, and teams.
  • Resilience Under Pressure : Emotionally intelligent women handle stress and setbacks with grace.
  • Increased Influence & Negotiation Skills : EQ makes it easier to navigate tough conversations.

⚠️ The Challenges:

  • Emotional Labor Overload : Women with high EQ are often expected to mediate, nurture, and “keep the peace.”
  • Perceived as ‘Too Nice’ : In male dominated spaces, emotional intelligence can sometimes be mistaken for a lack of assertiveness.
  • Difficulty Setting Boundaries : High empathy can lead to people pleasing or spreading yourself too thin.

How Emotionally Intelligent Are You? (Take This Quick Quiz!)

Answer each question with A (Always), B (Sometimes), or C (Rarely).

Self-Awareness & Regulation

  1. I recognize my emotions and understand how they affect my work.
  2. I stay calm and composed under pressure.

Motivation & Resilience

  1. I stay focused and motivated, even when I face challenges.
  2. I set goals and push forward, even in tough situations.

Empathy & Relationship-Building

  1. I can sense when a colleague or client is struggling emotionally.
  2. I listen actively and consider different perspectives before responding.

Social Skills & Boundaries

  1. I navigate workplace conflicts with diplomacy.
  2. I support my colleagues but also set clear boundaries to protect my time and energy.

Scoring:

  • Mostly A’s → High EQ: You leverage emotions effectively in leadership and relationships.
  • Mostly B’s → Moderate EQ: You’re aware but may need to refine specific areas.
  • Mostly C’s → Needs Improvement: Strengthening your EQ will help with communication, resilience, and leadership.

The Takeaway:

Emotional intelligence is one of the most powerful skills we can cultivate as women in business. It’s the key to leading with confidence, setting boundaries, and thriving in high-pressure environments. But like any strength, it needs balance. Recognizing when to channel EQ for influence vs. when to protect your own energy is just as important.
